ABOUT US

Kingston SE Dining | Bistro, Beer Garden & Local Flavours

Built in 1862 in the heart of Kingston SE, the Crown Inn began its life as the Ship Inn, playing a key role in the region’s early transport and mail routes.

It served as a booking office and depot during a time when movement, connection and community were everything.

In 1878, under licensee JT Winterbottom, the building was renovated and renamed the Crown Hotel — a name that has stood the test of time. While details of its early years may have shifted, its place at the centre of Kingston life never has.

Like the town itself, the Crown has evolved over the years, holding onto the character, stories and sense of community that shaped it.

“The Crown” — as the locals know it — remains a place to gather. For a good meal, a cold drink, a comfortable stay, and the kind of moments that keep people coming back.

Proudly owned by the Gardner and Warren families since 2008, the Crown Inn is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Expect quality pub meals, icy cold beer on tap and a curated selection of local and interstate wines — with regular live music adding to the atmosphere.

Out the back, the beer garden offers a relaxed alfresco space to dine or unwind, while inside you’ll find room for everything from casual catch-ups to celebrations. With free WiFi, plenty of off-street parking (including space for caravans and trailers), and secure overnight motorbike storage, it’s all set up for an easy visit.

Our courtesy cruiser seats 12 and offers local pick-up and drop-off within town limits — because getting there (and home again) should be just as easy.

Join us for happy hour and don’t miss the Friday night meat tray draws — a local favourite that also gives back to the community.
